29 CFR 1904 requires employers to report work-related injuries. The Sharps Injury Log must be maintained for 5 years.
The Sharps Log must contain the following:
• Information about the injury
• Type and brand of device involved in the injury
• Department or work area where the exposure occurred
• Explanation of how the incident occurred
The log must be recorded and maintained in such a manner so as to protect the confidentiality of the injured employee
