What’s new?
The Louisiana Veterans Benefits posting contains a description of state and federal benefits and services available to Louisiana veterans and their families. Covered resources include:
- Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs (LDVA) health care, education, disability benefits, long-term care, and burial honors services.
- U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Crisis Line.
- Mental health and substance abuse resources.
- Veteran homelessness prevention partners and housing services.
- Compensation and pension benefits claims assistance and LDVA office locations.
- Federal and state educational benefits for student veterans and their dependents.
- Employment assistance and business owner resources available through federal and state programs.
- Louisiana veteran income tax exemptions.
- State-run veterans homes and cemeteries.
Who must post?
Every Louisiana employer with 50 or more employees must display the Veterans Benefits posting in a conspicuous place accessible to employees in the workplace. (LRS § 29:771.1)
