California Wage Order #15 – Household Occupations Poster
The California Industrial Welfare Commission (IWC) Wage Orders regulate wages, hours and working conditions. Employers must comply with the IWC Wage Order and California labor laws applicable to their business or industry.
“Household Occupations” means all services related to the care of persons or maintenance of a private household or its premises by an employee of a private householder occupations shall include the following:
- Butlers
- Chauffeurs
- Companions
- Cooks
- Day workers
- Gardeners
- Graduate nurses
- Grooms
- House cleaners
- Housekeepers
- Maids
- Practical nurses
- Tutors
- Valets
Posting Requirement:
California Labor Code section 1183(d) provides, “Every employer who is subject to an order of the commission shall post a copy of the order and keep it posted in a conspicuous location frequented by employees during the hours of the workday.”
