The City of Jacksonville Alcohol Health Warning Poster provides information on the risks of alcohol consumption such as intoxication, addiction, and birth defects. The poster warns patrons not to drink and drive, mix alcohol with prescription drugs, or drink while pregnant.

The Jacksonville Code of Ordinances (Chapter 154, Sec. 154.111.) requires all vendors of alcoholic beverages to post this alcohol health warning in a conspicuous place in their premises, and in all restrooms.

“Alcoholic beverages” means and includes alcohol, spirits, liquor, wine, and beer.

“Vendor” means any person who owns or operates a business establishment (such as a bar or restaurant) which sells at retail any alcoholic beverage for on-premises consumption; and any person who owns or operates a liquor store or any other business establishment which has retail sales of alcoholic beverages.

Posting Requirements

The Jacksonville Alcohol Health Warning poster must be posted in a conspicuous place on the premises of the business establishment, clearly and visibly legible to all patrons entering the premises. It must also be posted in all restrooms.

Violation of this section shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $100 or by imprisonment for not more than 30 days, or both; provided, however, that the first offense cited at any location shall not constitute a violation pursuant to this section. The vendor shall in such case only receive a warning notice for the first offense.
