City of San Mateo, CA Minimum Wage Poster Description
The City of San Mateo, CA minimum wage rate is adjusted annually beginning January 1st of each year. The San Mateo, CA Minimum Wage Poster informs employees of the current minimum wage right and their rights under the San Mateo Minimum Wage Ordinance. The minimum wage rate applies to any employee who performs at least two hours work within the City of San Mateo. Under the City’s Minimum Wage Ordinance, employees who assert their rights are protected from retaliation. Employees whose rights have been violated may file a lawsuit against their employers or file a complaint with the City.
Posting & Notice Requirements
Employers with employees who work within the City’s geographic boundaries are required to post the current Minimum Wage Official Notice of the Minimum Wage in San Mateo workplaces. Employers must provide to each newly hired employee written notice of their rights under the Minimum Wage Ordinance, and also written notice of the employer’s name, address and telephone number.
