The 2019 Indiana Teen Work Hour Restrictions Peel ‘N Post™ update sticker adheres to existing Indiana All-On-One™ Labor Law Posters and Mobile Poster Paks™ to ensure that mandatory workplace posters are compliant.
The 2019 Indiana Teen Work Hour Restrictions posting has been updated with new work hours for 14- and 15- year olds. In 2018, the Indiana legislature enacted House Bill 1420, which allows a child who is at least 14 years of age and less than 16 years of age to work until 10:00 p.m. on days not followed by a school day as well as work more than three hours on Fridays when school is in session. The posting now includes a chart that compares federal and state laws for 14- and 15-years olds. A statement encouraging employers to contact their attorney before allowing 14- and 15- year olds to work extended hours has also been added to the posting.
All employers with employees under the age of 18 in an occupation for which the employees must obtain an employment certificate must post the Indiana Teen Work Hour Restrictions posting in a conspicuous place readily accessible to employees. (Indiana Code, § 20-33-3-34)
