New Jersey Payment of Wages Posting

The 2022 New Jersey Payment of Wages Peel ‘N Post™ update sticker adheres to existing New Jersey All-On-One™ Labor Law Posters to ensure the mandatory workplace posters are compliant.

The New Jersey Payment of Wages posting helps inform employees about the New Jersey Wage Payment Law. Under the law, covered employers* are required to pay wages in full at least twice a calendar month. Employers must also:

  • Notify employees when they are hired the rate of pay and the regular payday.
  • Notify employees of changes in pay rates or paydays prior to the changes.
  • Give each employee a statement of deductions each pay period.
  • Make and keep records for employees, including wages and hours, and make such records available for inspection.
  • Provide employees when they are hired a required notice (form MW-400) describing the employer’s obligation to maintain and report records regarding wages, benefits, taxes and other contributions and assessments.

*Employer is defined as “any individual, partnership, association, joint stock company, trust, corporation, the administrator or executor of the estate of a deceased individual, or the receiver, trustee, or successor of any of the same, employing any person in this [New Jersey] State.”

What Changed?

The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development recently made text revisions to the Payment of Wages posting to help clarify the Wage Payment law. The posting has a new layout and color scheme, which complements other New Jersey postings. The new posting date is 4/22.

Posting Requirements

All New Jersey employers are required to display the Payment of Wages posting in a conspicuous place accessible to employees. (N.J.S.A. 34:11-4.6)
