The notice also includes information on the state’s right to work and employment discrimination laws.

The North Carolina Wage and Hour Notice has been updated with information on the Employee Fair Classification Act, which creates a new Department of Labor section devoted to employee misclassification claims. The Act requires the Department of Labor to update the Wage and Hour notice with contact information for the new section and inform workers that they may file a report if they feel they have been misclassified as an independent contractor by their employer.  The Act goes into effect on December 31, 2017.
