Who must post the Ohio 2021 Know Your Rights – Equal Employment Opportunity is the Law Peel ‘N Post?
All Ohio employers with four or more employees, employment agencies, labor organizations, housing providers, and any other “person” subject to the Ohio Civil Rights Act, ORC §4112.02, are required to post the Ohio 2021 Know Your Rights – Equal Employment Opportunity is the Law posting where it can be seen by employees, applicants, members, and housing consumers, as applicable. (ORC §4112.07)
What changed?
The posting has been revised to reflect changes made by:
- 2021 Ohio House Bill 352 “Employment Law Uniformity Act” changing the time within which complaints for workplace discrimination must be filed. Complaints must be filed with the Ohio Civil Rights Commission within two years of the last act of discrimination or harassment.
- 2020 U.S. Supreme Court decision in Bostock v. Clayton Cty., Georgia, and other federal court cases, holding that the prohibition of discrimination in employment based on sex includes employment discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
