The Nebraska No Smoking Poster displays the text “No Smoking Including Electronic Cigarettes” as well as the international “no smoking” and “no electronic cigarette” symbol. The poster also displays the law code reference.
Under the Nebraska Clean Indoor Air Act, smoking is prohibited in indoor places of employment and public places. Tobacco retail outlets and cigar shops are exempt, as are up to 20 percent of hotel rooms.
Posting Requirements
The proprietor or other person in charge of an indoor place of employment or public place is required to take measures to ensure compliance with the law and prevent smoking, which may include posting appropriate signs (Administrative Code, 7-003.02).
A proprietor who fails, neglects, or refuses to perform a duty under the Nebraska Clean Indoor Air Act is guilty of a Class V misdemeanor for the first offense and a class IV misdemeanor for second and subsequent offenses.
Post the Nebraska No Smoking Poster at entrances to inform patrons, employees, and the public that smoking is prohibited within the establishment.
