Who must post the Louisiana 2025 Earned Income Credit (EIC) posting?

  • Louisiana law requires any Louisiana business establishment that has twenty or more full-time or part-time employees to post, in the same location where other employee notices required by state or federal law are posted, the annual Louisiana Earned Income Credit (EIC) notice provided by the Louisiana Workforce Commission. (L.R.S. § 23:1018.1, 23:1018.2).

What does the 2025 EIC notice inform employees of?

The Louisiana 2025 EIC posting reflects Louisiana’s requirements regarding notification to new hires and current employees of the Federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). The 2025 EIC posting:

  • Informs employees that employers are required to inform employees with moderate incomes at the time hiring of the potential availability of the Federal EITC.
  • Explains that earned income credits are reductions in Federal income tax liability for which they may be eligible if they meet certain conditions.
  • Lists the maximum earned income and adjusted gross income levels to be eligible for the Federal credit, based on the number of qualifying children claimed, if any.

The Earned Income Tax  Credit Income (EITC) levels for tax year 2025 are:

  • Increase New hire EIC notification income threshold
  • Income Eligibility increases:
    • $61,555 ($68,675 married filing jointly) with three or more qualifying children
    • $57,310 ($64,430 married filing jointly) with two qualifying children
    • $50,434 ($57,554 married filing jointly) with one qualifying child
    • $19,104 ($26,214 married filing jointly) with no qualifying children
