California Wage Order #17 – Miscellaneous Employees Poster

The California Industrial Welfare Commission (IWC) Wage Orders regulate wages, hours and working conditions.  Employers must comply with the IWC Wage Order and California labor laws applicable to their business or industry.

Wage Order #17 Section 1(A) “Any industry or occupation not previously covered by, and all employees not specifically exempted in, the Commission’s Wage Orders in effect in 1997, or otherwise exempted by law, are covered by this order.”

Currently the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement has not identified any occupations that meet the definition of miscellaneous employees in Industrial Welfare Commission Order 17-2001.

Posting Requirement:

California Labor Code section 1183(d) provides, “Every employer who is subject to an order of the commission shall post a copy of the order and keep it posted in a conspicuous location frequented by employees during the hours of the workday.”
