California Wage Order #6 – Laundry, Linen Supply, Dry Cleaning and Dyeing Industry Poster
The California Industrial Welfare Commission (IWC) Wage Orders regulate wages, hours and working conditions. Employers must comply with the IWC Wage Order and California labor laws applicable to their business or industry.
“Laundry, Linen Supply, Dry Cleaning and Dyeing Industry” means any industry, business, or establishment operated for the purpose of the following:
- Washing
- Ironing
- Cleaning
- Refreshing
- Restoring
- Pressing
- Dyeing
- Storing
- Fumigating
- Moth-proofing
- Waterproofing
- Incidental processes thereto
on articles or fabrics of any kind, including but not limited to:
- Clothing
- Hats
- Drapery
- Rugs
- Curtains
- Linens
- Household furnishings
- Textiles
- Furs
- Leather goods
Includes self-service laundries, self-service dry cleaning establishments, and the collection, distribution, storage, sale, or resale at retail or wholesale of the foregoing services.
Posting Requirement:
California Labor Code section 1183(d) provides, “Every employer who is subject to an order of the commission shall post a copy of the order and keep it posted in a conspicuous location frequented by employees during the hours of the workday.”
