Who must post?

The California Agriculture Poster compiles common State and Federal mandatory-to-post and mandatory-to-communicate notices for agricultural employers and farm labor contractors on one attractive and durable poster. The poster includes workplace safety notices from CAL-OSHA, CDPR mandatory PSIS Series leaflets A-8 and A-9, and informational labor law notices from the federal Department of Labor.

What’s included?

California Agricultural Safety Notices:

  • Pesticide Safety for Employees Handling Pesticides in Agricultural Settings (A-8): Must be posted before any employee is allowed to handle pesticides in an agricultural setting. (3 CCR § 6723).
  • Pesticide Safety for Employees Working in Fields (A-9): Must be posted whenever employees are working as fieldworkers in a field that has been treated with pesticide or has had a restricted entry interval or entry restricted period in effect within the past 30 days. (3 CCR § 6761).
  • Cal/OSHA Access to Medical and Exposure Records: Fulfills employer’s responsibility to inform any employee who works with hazardous or toxic materials of the existence, location, and accessibility of mandatory records (CCR §3204).
  • Quick Reference Hazardous Materials: Communicates the location of safety data sheets. (CCR §5194).
  • Safety Awareness/Safety Meetings: Communicates information about the employer’s injury and illness prevention program.
  • Farm Labor Contractor – Statement of Pay Rates (Bilingual): Fulfills a licensed farm labor contractor’s responsibility to display licensee information and employee compensation rates. (Lab. Code § 1695(a)(7) and  8 CCR § 13666) .
  • Notice to Agricultural Workers with Minor Children (Bilingual): Must be posted by every owner, tenant, or operator of a farm employing as  agricultural labor any parent or guardian having minor children in his immediate care and custody. (Ed. Code §49140).

Federal Agricultural Safety Notices:

  • Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Protection Act (Bilingual): Required for every agricultural employer, agricultural association, and farm labor contractor who employs migrant or seasonal agricultural workers and is subject to the Act (29 U.S. Code § 1821 and §1831).
  • Employee Rights Under the Fair Labor Standards Act – Agricultural Employees: This notice describes federal minimum wage and child labor requirements. Required for every employer employing any agricultural worker who is subject to the FLSA (29 CFR 516.4).
  • Housing Terms and Conditions – Form WH-521:  This fill-in form can be used to communication terms and conditions of employer-provided housing, as required by Section 201 of the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act.
