Under the Fair Practices Ordinance, employers are required to provide reasonable workplace adjustments to address the needs of an employee for her pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical condition. Employers must provide a written notice of the law to new and existing employees, ideally in an employee handbook or other form of hiring package. Posting of the notice at the place of business in an area accessible to employees is highly encouraged.
