Palo Alto, CA Minimum Wage Poster Description
The Palo Alto, CA Minimum Wage Ordinance (Palo Alto Municipal Code Chapter 4.62) requires all Palo Alto employers to pay their employees at least the minimum wage rate for work performed within the geographical boundaries of the City. Covered employees are those that work at least two (2) hours per week within City limits. The minimum wage rate is adjusted for inflation each January 1. The Palo Alto Minimum Wage Poster has been updated to reflect the effective minimum wage rate.
It is unlawful for employers to retaliate against employees for exercising their rights under the Ordinance. An employee may file a civil lawsuit against an employer for any violation of the Ordinance or may file a complaint with the City of Palo Alto. The City will investigate possible violations, will have access to payroll records, and will enforce violations of the minimum wage requirements by ordering reinstatement of employees, payment of back wages, and penalties.
