Bill of Rights for Nail Workers
The New York Bill of Rights for Nail Workers notifies workers in the nail salon industry of their rights to a legal wage and a safe work environment. Workers must be paid for every hour they work, including overtime. Employers cannot take tips and wages from a worker or pay them less than minimum wage. Workers should never pay to apply for a position, to get a job, for training, as punishment, for breakage or any other reason.
The poster also includes a hotline for workers with questions regarding their rights and/or to make a complaint.
Posting Requirements
All nail salons in New York are required to display this poster in a place visible to all employees and the public.
