The Ohio Radiation Protection Poster informs employees of their rights and responsibilities under radiation protection standards established by the Ohio Department of Health. Employers are required to inform employees of the occurrence of radiation and the presence of a restricted area, to instruct employees on safety risks and precautions, and to make specified information available to employees in writing.
The poster also provides information on inspections, how to contact the Bureau of Radiation Protection, and the employee’s right to be free from discrimination for bringing safety concerns to the attention of the employer or the Department of Health.
Posting Requirement
The Ohio Radiation Protection Poster must be conspicuously posted in a sufficient number of places in every facility where employees engage in activities subject to Ohio’s radiation protection rules. Employees working in any portion of a restricted area must be able to observe a copy on their way to or from the regulated work environment. (Ohio Administrative Code, 3701:1-38-10)
