The Tennessee No Firearms Poster informs patrons that possession of firearms is prohibited on the premises, cites the T.C.A. statute which allows such prohibition, and warns that violation of this prohibition is a criminal offense which may result in a fine and/or imprisonment. The poster includes an image of a firearm inside a red “no” circle.

The Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 39-17-1359, allows an individual, corporation, or business entity to prohibit the possession of firearms by any person who is on property owned, operated, managed or under the control of the prohibiting entity. Notice of this prohibition must be given by posting notices in prominent locations, including all entrances.

Posting Requirement

To prohibit the possession of firearms on your property or a portion of your property, you must post the Tennessee No Firearms notice in prominent locations, including all entrances. The notice must be plainly visible to the average person entering the building, property, or portion of the building or property where firearm possession is prohibited.

An individual, corporation, business entity, or government entity that wishes to restrict the possession of weapons on the premises to only persons with a concealed carry permit may instead post the Tennessee Concealed Firearms Poster.
