Currently, individuals who have valid Oklahoma handgun licenses have the right to carry a handgun, concealed or unconcealed (“open carry”), in many public locations. However, property owners, employers or business entities can choose not to allow firearms or weapons without having to post a sign forbidding them.

Come November 1, 2013, the sign requirement will change. Oklahoma law will require property owners, employers or business entities open to the public that do not allow firearms to post signs specifically prohibiting them on the property. Individuals that carry weapons despite the signs can be asked to leave and if they refuse to leave, face a citation from law enforcement officials up to $250.00.

Compliance Poster Company carries the Oklahoma Firearms Prohibited Sign (#36704) for use by Oklahoma’s employers and businesses that are subject to the mandatory sign requirement or that wish to exclude weapons from the workplace.
