Minimum Wage Increase in New Jersey

Beginning January 1, 2015, the minimum wage in the state of New Jersey will increase from $8.25 per hour to $8.38 per hour. The increase comes as a result of last year’s election. New Jersey voters approved the constitutional amendment that raised the minimum wage rate from $7.25 per hour to $8.25 per hour with annual adjustments for inflation, effective January 1, 2014. Every year, the minimum wage rate will be adjusted based on changes in the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

The Wage and Hour Law Abstract also covers overtime, wage orders and regulations, minimum wage exemptions, and labor on a farm at piece-rate.
