To ensure and promote workplace safety, the Maine Department of Labor will offer once again free safety classes in the month of September. The courses will be held at the SafetyWorks Training Institution in Augusta, unless otherwise noted.
According to SafetyWorks, the program trains approximately 8,000 individuals annually. The free courses, which are available for employers and employees, will help achieve compliance among businesses in the state of Maine.
Below are some of the upcoming courses:
- Accident Investigation/Injury Analysis: September 1, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- 10-Hour Construction Standards: September 10-11, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (different location)
- 30-Hour Construction Standards: September 14-18, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Forklift Operator Training: September 2, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Public Sector Compliance: September 22, 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. (different location)
- Laws Governing Workplace Rights: September 22, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (different locations)
- OSHA Recordkeeping: September 24, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (different location)
- 10-Hour General Industry Standards: September 24-25, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
