The city of Santa Fe is the most recent New Mexico community to announce an upcoming change in the minimum wage rate. Effective March 1, 2016, the minimum wage rate that must be paid to all employees that perform work within Santa Fe city limits is $10.91 per hour. This rate reflects an increase of 7 cents from last year’s minimum wage rate of $10.84 per hour. Earlier this year, Albuquerque and Bernalillo County announced that there would be no change in their minimum wage rates in 2016 but they have published new minimum wage notices.

Effective January 1, 2016 is $8.75 per hour; $7.75 if the employer provides health or child care benefits; and $5.25 for tipped employees. Although the minimum wage rates remain the same as last year, the updated posting provides the CPI Index data since last year and 2016 rate calculations.
Effective January 26, 2016, the minimum wage is $8.65 per hour worked, and the federal minimum of $2.13 for tipped employees. The minimum wage rate remains the same as last year but the updated posting reflects the current effective year.
Effective March 1, 2016, the minimum wage increases to $10.91 per hour. Santa Fe will be releasing a revised Minimum Wage poster closer to the effective date.
The county of Santa Fe is expected to announce the minimum wage rate for work performed within unincorporated Santa Fe county boundaries that is effective March 1, 2016. Currently, the minimum wage rate is $10.84 per hour.
Effective on January 1, 2015, the minimum hourly wage rate of $8.40 an hour went into effect. Employers do not need to update posters this year. The minimum wage rate is next scheduled to increase to $9.27 per hour on January 1, 2017.
