What’s changed?
The Oregon Predictive Scheduling Law covers employers in the retail, hospitality, or food services industries who employ 500 or more employees worldwide; and their employees who perform work in a retail, hospitality, or food service establishment in the state of Oregon.
The Oregon Employee Work Schedules Poster has been updated in accordance with regulations which clarify the definition of a covered employee. The revised poster states that a covered employee must be primarily engaged in retail, hospitality, or food services within the establishment. The “Who Is Covered section” also clarifies that employees whose primaries duties are not directly related to retail, hospitality, or food service do not count towards the 500 employee threshold for covered employers.
In addition, the “Changes in Work Schedules” section now clarifies that in instances where the employer makes a change to an employee’s work schedule, the employer must provide advance notice at least seven calendar days prior to the beginning of the workweek in which the change occurs.
Who is required to post?
All covered employers are required to display the Oregon Employee Work Schedules Poster in a conspicuous location in the workplace where it can be viewed by covered employees. (Oregon Revised Statutes, Sec. 653.460)
