How did the Minimum Wage posting change?
The Rhode Island Minimum Wage posting has been revised with the following minimum wage rates effective January 1, 2022:
- Minimum wage for all workers – $12.25 per hour
- Minimum wage for full-time students under 19 years of age working in nonprofit organizations – $11.03 per hour
- Minimum wage for minors 14 and 15 years of age working less than 24 hours in a week – $9.19 per hour
All employers subject to the Rhode Island Minimum Wage Act must post and maintain the Minimum Wage posting in a conspicuous and accessible place in the workplace. (Rhode Island General Law, Section 28-12-11)
How did the Whistleblower posting change?
The Rhode Island Whistleblower’s Protection Act posting has been revised to reflect a statutory amendment pursuant to 2021 House Bill 5855 prohibiting employers from reporting or threatening to report an employee’s immigration status for whistleblowing.
All employers must post and maintain the Whistleblower posting in a conspicuous place. (Rhode Island General Law, Section 28-50-8)
