The Commonwealth of Kentucky Labor Cabinet just announced that it will be holding free informational and training courses in the month of July. Courses will be held at the Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park in Gilbertsville from July 13 to July 16. The goal is to encourage a safe workplace by offering free safety courses that will be beneficial to both employers and employees.
People participating may choose from courses on the Kentucky Occupational Safety and Health Program, fall protection, bloodborne pathogens, injury and illness recordkeeping, and welding safety requirements, among other topics. The courses include group-based and hand-on learning activities.

- Overview of the Kentucky OSH Program: July 13, 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
- Injury and Illness Recordkeeping: July 13, 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Fall Protection (commercial construction): July 14, 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
- Bloodborne Pathogens: July 14, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Basic Electrical Safety: July 15, 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
- Welding: July 15, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Combustible Dust: July 16, 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
- Hazard Communication/Global Harmonization: July 16, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
