The 2024 Michigan Earned Sick Time Peel ‘N Post™ adheres to existing Michigan All-On-One™ Labor Law Posters and Mobile Poster Paks™ to ensure required workplace posters are up to date with state law and posting requirements.
Effective February 21, 2025, Michigan employers with one or more employees must provide employees with paid sick time. Under the law, employees will accrue sick time at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked. Employers with 10 or more employees must allow at least 72 hours of paid sick time per year to be used to the extent the leave is accrued. Employers with fewer than 10 employees must allow at least 40 hours of paid sick time annually, plus an additional 32 hours of unpaid sick time to the extent leave is accrued.
Employees may take sick time for the following reasons for themselves or a family member:
- care for or treat mental or physical illness, injury, or condition;
- obtain preventative medical care;
- closure of an employee’s workplace or child’s school/daycare due to a public health emergency;
- exposure to a communicable disease;
- absence due to domestic violence and sexual assault situations
Posting Requirement
Every Michigan employer must display the new Earned Sick Time posting in a conspicuous place that is accessible to employees. (MCL Sec. 408.968)
