Who must post the 2025 Washington Paid Time Off Peel ‘N Post?
Washington State Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance Law (“Paid Time Off”) requires all Washington employers to post and keep posted the 2025 Washington Paid Time Off posting. (RCW 50A.20.020)
- State law requires the Paid Time Off posting to displayed in conspicuous places on the premises of the employer where notices to employees and applicants for employment are customarily posted.
- State regulations advise that the Paid Time Off notice should be posted in a common area, such as a break room or other area where such notices are customarily posted. (WAC 192-540-020).
What’s new?
The posting has been updated to reflect the 2025 adjustment of the maximum weekly benefit that an employee may receive while taking Paid Time Off. The law allows eligible employees to take up to 12 weeks (or longer) of family and medical leave for:
- A serious health condition that prevents them from working;
- To care for a family or like-family member;
- To bond with a new child (through birth, adoption or foster placement); or
- For certain military-related events.
During the period of leave, employees can receive a portion of their typical weekly pay, up to the maximum weekly benefit amount established for that year. The maximum weekly benefit amount is adjusted each year and is calculated based on a percentage of the state average weekly wage.
Failure to post the Washington State 2022 Paid Time Off notice may result in a penalty of $100.00.
