Compliance Poster Company Makes Mandatory Updates to Choke Saving/CPR Posters

Compliance Poster Company (CPC) has updated its posters to comply with changes to the lay responder First Aid and CPR/AED materials called for by the American Red Cross. As the essential resource for life-saving techniques and training, Compliance Poster Company relies on the Red Cross for guidance in creating its Choke saving/CPR and First Aid poster products. These easy-to-follow posters help individuals respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies. Topic areas addressed on our various posters include recognizing emergencies, prioritizing care, activating EMS, checking an unconscious person, and checking a conscious person for life-threatening and non-life-threatening conditions, to name a few.  Choke-saving/CPR posters are required for restaurant and food service-related industries and when dictated by company policies.

The changes to our posters include:

  • Eliminating the practice of placing a person in a recovery position (roll onto one side) while waiting for help to arrive,
  • Adding “push hard, push fast in the middle of the chest, at least 100 compressions per minute” in the chest compressions section,
  • Adding “blow in for about 1 second to make chest clearly rise. Give rescue breaths one after the other” in the CPR section under command to give 2 rescue breaths.

It is not uncommon for First Aid, choke-saving and CPR knowledge and skills to decline in as little as 3 months after an individual receives training. Displaying one of CPC’s skill posters in a highly visible location reinforces the skills of trained individuals and makes it possible for lay persons to save lives.  Make sure your employees know how to respond in a workplace emergency. Our posters can help employees keep calm and perform steps needed to save lives relieving panic or fear of doing something wrong or even being unsure of what to do.
