The news is also good for Vermont’s minimum wage workers whose hourly wage rate is going up 14 cents an hour in 2013. Some of the changes you will notice on your new poster:
- For non-tipped employees Vermont’s 2013 minimum wage rate increases to $8.60 per hour.
- For service and tipped employees, the basic wage rate increases in 2013 to $4.17 per hour.
- For employers using tip income to offset the minimum wage of tipped employees, the maximum tip credit allowed increases to $4.43 an hour. If an employee does not receive sufficient tips in the work week to at least achieve the minimum wage for all hours worked that week, the employer must make up the difference.
- Incremental increases in the minimum wage rate and tip credit between 2010 and 2013.
