What changed?

Last year, Maryland lawmakers passed a law that gradually increases the statewide minimum wage rate every year until it reaches $15.00 per hour in 2025. The first three years of the new minimum wage rate schedule are reflected on the 2020 Maryland Minimum Wage and Overtime Law workplace posting. The 2019 minimum wage rate was removed from the posting.
The minimum wage increases for the next three years are:

$11.75 per hour
$11.60 per hour
January 1, 2022
$12.50 per hour
$12.20 per hour
 
Who must post? 
Every Maryland employer is required to keep posted in each place of employment the effective Maryland Minimum Wage and Overtime Law posting. (Md. Code, Lab. & Empl. § 3-423) An employer who violates the posting requirement is subject to a fine of up to $1,000. (Md. Code, Lab. & Empl. § 3-428)
