New York 2015 Minimum Wage Increase Effective Now

On December 31, 2014, New York’s minimum wage rate increased from $8.00 per hour to $8.75 per hour. The increase is part of the three increments that started December 31, 2013. New York Governor Cuomo signed a comprehensive state budget bill on March 29, 2013 that included amendments to Section 652 of the New York Labor Law, raising the minimum wage rate in the state. The third increase to $9.00 per hour from $8.75 per hour will occur on December 31, 2015.
