Missouri’s Department of Labor and Industrial Relations has recently released the new 2018 Minimum Wage posting. The posting has been substantially reformatted and updated with the new minimum wage rate. Effective January 1, 2018, the minimum wage rate will increase from $7.70 per hour to $7.85 per hour. The minimum wage rate is adjusted annually based on changes in inflation as measured by the Consumer Price Index.
The revised minimum wage posting also includes a new section on overtime compensation. Overtime compensation must be paid at a rate of at least one and one-half times a covered employee’s regular rate for all hours worked over 40 in a workweek. Retail and service businesses whose annual gross sales are less than $500,000 are not required to pay the minimum wage rate. Finally, Missouri’s Division of Labor Standards contact information was updated. The new posting date is 12/17.
Missouri employers can comply with their posting requirement (Missouri Revised Statutes, Section 290.522) by obtaining the updated Missouri All-On-OneTM Labor Law Poster or the Missouri 2018 Minimum Wage Peel ‘N PostTM.
