What’s new?
Pursuant to Senate Bill 709, employers with 50 or more employees must display a notice on resources available for military veterans. The Maine Department of Labor has created a notice identifying the following:
- Educational, workforce, and training resources
- Unemployment insurance information
- Obtaining driver’s licenses and identification cards
- Substance use and mental health treatment
- Tax benefits
- Legal services
- Contact information for the Veterans and Emergency Management, the Department of Defense, and the Maine Bureau of Veterans’ Services
Who must post?
Employers with 50 or more full-time employees must display the Veterans’ Benefits and Services notice in a conspicuous place accessible to employees in the workplace. (26 MRSA § 42-D)
