Minimum Wage
The Minimum Wage notice has been updated with the minimum wage rate effective January 1, 2025. The minimum wage increased to $16.35 per hour. All employers must post the notice in a prominent location in the workplace. (CGS § 31-66)
Discrimination
Changes to the Discrimination notice include amendments to the Human Rights Law prohibiting employers from discriminating against employees and applicants based on:
- Domestic violence victim status (2022 Senate Bill 5)
- Expunged criminal history information (2021 Senate Bill 1019)
The notice also includes a QR code linked to the Commission on Human Rights & Opportunities’ complaint form. All employers must display the Discrimination notice in the workplace. (CGS § 46a-54(13))
Paid Sick Leave
The Paid Sick Leave notice reflects significant changes to the Paid Sick Leave Law made by House Bill 5005 (2024). Effective January 1, 2025, employees:
- Accrue one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked
- Can use paid sick leave:
- Starting on the 120th calendar day of employment
- When the employee’s place of business or a family member’s school or place of care is closed due to a public health emergency
- When a specified principal has determined that the employee or family member poses a risk due to a communicable disease
Employers with 25 or more employees displaying the notice in a conspicuous location of the workplace are in compliance with employee notification requirements. (CGS § 31-57w)
