Massachusetts Unemployment Insurance Posting Update
The Massachusetts Department of Unemployment Assistance has updated the mandatory-to-post Unemployment Insurance posting entitled “Information about Employee’s Unemployment Insurance Coverage.” The posting reflects the following changes:
- New responsible state department and logo.
- The department has removed the call scheduling during peak periods from Monday through Thursday.
- One TeleClaim Center phone number has been kept for individuals to call when applying for unemployment insurance benefits.
The posting revision date is 01/08/2024.
Posting Requirements
All Massachusetts employers must display the Unemployment Insurance posting in a conspicuous place, accessible to employees. (MGL Ch. 151A, Sec. 62A(g)) Failure to post the required information can result in a written warning by the Department of Unemployment Assistance for a first violation, and thereafter shall result in the assessment of a civil fine of $100 for a second violation, $250 for a third violation, and $500 for a fourth and subsequent violations.
