The Montana Department of Labor and Industry Employment Relations Division recently released the new 2018 Minimum Wage posting. Our readers may recall that Montana is required to adjust their minimum wage rate based on the increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI). If there is no increase in the CPI, no adjustment is made. If there is an increase, the Department will round the amount to the nearest five cents.
With a 0.4 percent increase in the CPI over the 12-month period from September 1, 2016 to August 31, 2017, Montana’s new rate is $8.30 per hour. The Minimum Wage posting has been updated to reflect the state minimum wage rate effective as of January 1, 2018. The rate applies to most employees in Montana, with limited exceptions including tipped employees.
CPC will offer two Montana poster updated options – a new Montana All-On-OneTM Labor Law Poster or a Montana 2018 Minimum Wage Peel ‘N PostTM.
