The Patients’ Bill of Rights poster provides a list of rights for patients receiving medical care in New York hospitals.
Hospitals are required to adopt and make public a statement of the rights and responsibilities of the patients who are receiving care in their facility (NY Public Health Law, § 2803-c).
Posting Requirement
The Patients’ Bill of Rights must be posted in clearly viewed areas of New York hospitals, at readable heights, including the admitting office, patient floors and outpatient departments and the emergency service waiting areas.
