Under the Ontario Employment Standards Act, all employees must receive at least the minimum wage unless they are not covered by provincial employment standards or are excluded from the legislation.
What Changed?
The Ontario Minimum Wage posting has been updated to reflect the following:
- Effective October 1, 2023:
- The general rate increased to $16.55 per hour.
- The student rate increased to $15.60 per hour.
- The hunting, fishing and wilderness guides rate increased to $82.85 per hour (worked less than 5 hours a day), and $165.75 per hour (worked more than 5 hours a day).
- The homeworkers rate increased to $18.20 per hour.
