The Delaware Human Trafficking Poster reminds patrons and employees that being threatened or physically harmed, prevented from contacting family, and forced to work against their will should be reported. The poster provides a hotline for victims or those who wish to report a suspected incident of human trafficking.
Under the Delaware Code, this poster must be displayed in the following establishments:
- Adult entertainment establishment;
- Entity found to be maintaining a criminal nuisance involving prostitution;
- Job recruitment center;
- Hospital;
- Wellness center;
- Shelter or residential service designated to serve victims of domestic violence or sexual assault, or individuals experiencing homelessness or food insecurity;
- Residential child care facility;
- Independent and transitional living service provider for youth aging out of foster care;
- Hotel;
- Convenience store along a major highway;
- Gas station along a major highway;
- Casino;
- Restaurant with a liquor license;
- Poultry processing plant;
- Bus or train station;
- Bar;
- Massage establishment; and
- Shopping mall.
Posting Requirements
The Delaware Human Trafficking Poster must be at least 8.5″ x 11,” and contain centralized human trafficking hotline. Non-compliance with the poster requirements may result in civil penalties. (Delaware Code, Title 11, Sec. 787(l))
Businesses may also post voluntarily to help support the effort to stop human trafficking.
