Who must post the Kansas Attorney General Human Trafficking Poster?
Kansas law requires certain Kansas businesses to post a notice offering help to victims of human trafficking. (K.S.A. § 75-759). The notice must be posted in a location visible to members of the public in the following public places:
- Sexually oriented businesses (as defined by K.S.A. 12-770)
- Massage parlors
- Healthcare facilities
- Convenience stores and truck stops
- Rest areas and visitors centers under state supervision or control
What is covered on the Kansas Attorney General Human Trafficking Poster?
The poster:
- Provides the toll-free National Human Trafficking Resource Center’s Hotline and Text line contact numbers. The Hotline and Text line can be used to: get help, report a tip, connect with local anti-trafficking services, and to request training and technical assistance, general information or specific anti-trafficking resources.
- Describes the National Human Trafficking Resource Center, its nationwide operation, and its multi-lingual assistance.
- Encourages individuals who suspect human trafficking to call the Nation Hotline, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation’s (KBI) tip line or via the QR code, or call 911 in an emergency.
- Provides the Kansas Attorney General contact number and hours of operation.
