The Minnesota Contractor Non-Discrimination Poster informs employees and applicants for employment of their right to be free from discrimination. Under the Minnesota Human Rights Act, contractors must take affirmative action to employ and advance in employment qualified minority, female, and disabled persons at all levels of employment. Affirmative action must apply to all employment practices including the following:
- hiring, upgrading, or transfer;
- recruitment or recruitment advertising;
- layoff or termination;
- rates of pay or other forms of compensation; and
- selection for training, including apprenticeship.
Contractors are also prohibited from discriminating or harassing any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, age, marital status, familial status, membership or activity in a local human rights commission, or status regarding public assistance.
