The US DOL is Helping Vets Connect with Jobs

US DOL Veterans CareerOneStop

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has updated its career sourcing website to help returning veterans find jobs. The DOL’s Career One Stop website includes a renovated webpage that both assists veterans in finding local jobs that match their military experience while also allowing employers to post job openings for veterans.

Veterans

The Career One Stop Veterans ReRemployment portal is a comprehensive website for employment, training, and financial help after military service. It has a military-to-civilian career skills matching tool, a local job search tool and tips for job searching, as well as educational options and transition resources.  The site also includes links to national, state, and local resources specifically for veteran job seekers. Veterans can also learn about government benefits and assistance including information about health care, food support, housing and energy assistance.

Employers

Are you an employer looking to hire a vet? The website outlines simple steps for employers interested in finding and hiring qualified veterans. Employers have access to tools that match civilian job openings to military careers that use similar skills, information about posting job opportunities online and veteran hiring guides. They can also learn about veterans’ rights and responsibilities, and tax incentives related to hiring a veteran.

CareerOneStop is a one-stop resource where job seekers, students, and career professionals will find tips and tools to facilitate a job search, explore careers and connect with employers.
