California OSHA Safety Poster: Hazard Identification and Safety Measures
All California employers are required to maintain a safe workplace. Making sure the workplace is safe for employees requires proper management of the facilities and operations and ensuring that employees are properly trained and informed of the risks they may face and the appropriate response procedures. The California OSHA Safety Poster communicates to employees health and safety measures specific to their working environment.
The California OSHA Safety Poster Includes:
- Access to Medical and Exposure Records – Employers are required to post this notice in the workplace. The notice informs employees of their right to review medical records of their exposure to toxic or harmful substances in the workplace and the location where they can review their medical records.
- OSHA Hazard Communication Standard Pictograms – OSHA uses the international pictograms to represent various chemical dangers. Pictograms are used on Safety Data Sheets, chemical labels, and chemical containers. Employees who are trained to read recognize and handle harmful agents can prevent serious consequences associated with such agents.
- Choking-saving and CPR Emergency instructions – These procedures follow the instructions of the American Red Cross. This poster is recommended for every on-site eating establishment. Employees or good Samaritans can perform these techniques without formal training until help arrives.
- Emergency Numbers – Individuals may not easily recall local service telephone numbers in an emergency. Ensure your employees have a visual reference point for emergency telephone numbers.
- Safety Awareness Training and Safety Meetings – Appointing safety custodians and routinely scheduling safety meetings ensures your employees remain safe from ongoing hazards and are prepared for personnel or operational changes that could affect how your workplace responds emergencies and threats.
- SB-198 Injury & Illness Prevention Program Company Policy Notice
- Hazard Communication Checklist – A tool that helps employees identify chemical hazards in the workplace and the protective gear required for each hazard presented.
- Hazardous Materials Quick Reference Notice
- Workers’ Compensation Injury Fraud Notice – Informs individuals of the common forms of workers’ compensation fraud, the gravity of the offense, and the potential consequences, and how to report suspected fraud.
- Safety & Health Protection on the Job – All workplaces are required to post the current Cal/OSHA posting. This posting informs employees and employers of their workplace safety and health rights and responsibilities, special rules that apply to hazardous chemicals, Cal/OSHA inspections, violations and penalties, and contact information for the nearest Cal/OSHA division location.
