New Mexico Human Trafficking Poster Requirement
Section 30-52-2.1 NMSA requires the following employers and businesses to post the New Mexico Human Trafficking Poster:
- All employers subject to the Minimum Wage Act
- Persons licensed pursuant to Sections 60-6A-2 through 60-6A-5 NMSA (covers the following state business licenses: retailer’s license. dispenser’s license, restaurant license, and club license)
- Health facilities licensed pursuant to the Public Health Act
- State or local government agencies that manage transportation facilities
New Mexico Human Trafficking Poster Description
The bilingual Human Trafficking Poster provides contact information for reporting human trafficking. It includes:
- New Mexico telephone or text reporting number
- National Human Trafficking Resource Center Hotline toll-free telephone number
- Text messaging directions for the National Human Trafficking Resource Center
- Caller anonymity and confidentiality
- Forced labor advisory
Human Trafficking Language and Posting Location Requirements
Language – Covered entities are required to post the notice in English and in Spanish, and in any other written language where 10% or more of the workers or users of a covered facility speak that language. Signs must also meet notice size and text size requirements.
Posting Location – The notice must be displayed in a conspicuous manner in a location clearly visible to the public and employees of the employer or licensee.
