Who must post the Santa Rosa, California Minimum Wage Poster?
All employers of covered employees are required post the Santa Rosa, California Minimum Wage Poster in a conspicuous place at each workplace or job site where any employee of that employer works. (Santa Rose Muni. Code § 10-45.080) The Minimum Wage Poster must be posted in English and Spanish and in any language spoken by more than 10% of the employer’s employees. Employers are also required to provide all current employees with written notification of their rights pursuant to the City’s Minimum Wage Ordinance and provide such notice to new employees within one week of starting employment.
Who is covered?
The minimum wage rate applies to any employee who performs at least two hours of work in a particular week within the geographic boundaries of the City of Santa Rosa.
How is the minimum wage rate increased?
The Santa Rosa minimum wage rate is adjusted each January 1 based on the prior year’s increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
How is the law enforced?
An employer may not discharge, reduce an employee’s compensation, take adverse action or otherwise discriminate against an employee for opposing any practice that violates the law or seeking enforcement of their rights under the law. An employee whose rights have been violated may bring a civil action against their employer within three years of the violation. The City may also pursue administrative enforcement against an employer who violates the law.
