A maximum penalty of $165,514.00:
- for a willful violation, where the employer has demonstrated an intentional disregard for the AKOSH standards or a plain indifference to employee safety.
- for each repeated violation for a similar condition or hazard that was previously cited by AKOSH.
A maximum penalty of $16,550.00:
- for each serious violation of workplace hazards that could cause an accident that would most likely result in death or serious physical harm.
- for each other-than-serious violations.
- for each failure to abate violation, with an additional penalty of $16,550.00 per day unabated beyond the abatement date.
The 2025 Alaska Job Safety & Health posting reflects these new penalties.
