California Wage Order #2 – Personal Service Industry Poster

The California Industrial Welfare Commission (IWC) Wage Orders regulate wages, hours and working conditions.  Employers must comply with the IWC Wage Order and California labor laws applicable to their business or industry.

“Personal Service” Industry means any industry, business or establishment operated for the purpose of the following:

  • Care
  • Cleansing
  • Beautification
  • Enhancement

Establishments Include:

  • Beauty salons
  • Schools of beauty
  • Barber shops
  • Bath and massage parlors
  • Physical conditioning
  • Weight control salons
  • Health clubs
  • Mortuaries

Posting Requirement:

California Labor Code section 1183(d) provides, “Every employer who is subject to an order of the commission shall post a copy of the order and keep it posted in a conspicuous location frequented by employees during the hours of the workday.”
