The California Discrimination is Against the Law Pamphlet is recommended for all employees, applicants, and patrons. The pamphlet describes the protections of employees and housing consumers under the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), and enforcement of the law by the California Civil Rights Department (CRD).
The pamphlet explains:
- protection from discrimination, harassment or retaliation;
- characteristics protected under the FEHA;
- protections in the provision of housing;
- the right to reasonable accommodation for people with disabilities, including pregnancy;
- leave for pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions
