Los Altos, CA Minimum Wage Poster Description
This poster shows the effective minimum wage rate. The minimum wage rate is adjusted each January 1 based on increases in the regional Consumer Price Index. The minimum wage rate applies to employers who are subject to the Los Altos business license tax or who maintain a business facility in the City. It covers employees who work at least two hours per week in the City of Los Altos.
The City’s Minimum Wage Ordinance protects employees from retaliation for asserting their rights under the Ordinance. An employee whose rights have been violated may file a civil suit against an employer or a complaint with the City. Contact information for the enforcement agency is provided. The poster describes what information may be required from the employee.
Posting & Recordkeeping
Employers are required to post the Los Altos, CA Minimum Wage poster in the top three languages spoken in the City. Our poster has been created in a multi-language format consisting of English, Spanish and Chinese.
Employers must also provide each employee at the time of hire with written notice of the employer’s name, address and telephone number.
Employers must retain payroll records for a period of four (4) years.
